JBT Food & Dairy Systems BV is part of JBT and specializes in developing and selling machines that extend the shelf life of packaged food across various product groups. Our ICS team is responsible for new construction projects, retrofitting existing installations, providing service support, and delivering spare parts for In Container Sterilizers. 

The current team consists of approximately 30 employees, supplemented by colleagues spread across multiple offices worldwide. We have ambitions to continue growing as a profitable division of JBT. 

From developing solutions to installation and service, JBT responds to the ever-changing conditions affecting the world’s largest food processors, suppliers, fast-food chains, and institutional and commercial restaurants. We maintain a local presence in more than 25 countries.

As an Inspection Engineer, your role is crucial in the field and serves as a vital link within the customer care team responsible for the accurate inspection of our In Container Sterilization Systems (ICS). As an integral part of the customer service team, you will perform detailed inspections in various countries.

You will conduct thorough evaluations of ICS units to ensure they meet safety and operational standards. Additionally, you will assess whether the current equipment aligns with the customer’s business objectives. This includes performing diagnostic assessments to identify potential issues and areas for improvement. You will ensure that all systems comply with industrial regulations and internal quality standards. Based on your inspection report, you will identify the best solutions for customers, which may include:

• Recommending retrofit adjustments aligned with the customer's business objectives to ensure equipment is up-to-date, more sustainable, enhances safety, extends equipment lifespan, improves performance, or integrates the latest technology.
• Suggesting routine or preventive maintenance activities at the customer’s site to prolong the lifespan and efficiency of the equipment.
• Proposing practical training and technical guidance for on-site personnel and customers, which you can also provide as a follow-up.

You will provide customers with detailed insights and in-depth reports based on your inspection findings, discussing necessary maintenance or replacements, as well as other opportunities for improvement to ensure optimal performance.

You play a key role in communicating requirements to the customer, ensuring our machines remain operational, and supporting their ongoing business success. You will coordinate follow-up actions with larger teams, depending on the outcome of your inspection and the customer's interests.

When not performing inspections, you will assist with the installation and commissioning of retrofits or new ICS units, ensuring they are installed correctly and operate at their best.

• A technical background, both in education and experience.
• A basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, switching, control, and precision engineering.
• Experience with or knowledge of process installations and maintenance (knowledge of control systems is a plus; we use Allen Bradley, Siemens S7, and TIA Portal in ICS).
• Proficient in conducting inspections and writing strong inspection reports.
• Experience in the machinery industry is advantageous, especially in the food industry. If you are joining externally, we offer training if you have relevant experience in assembly work involving electrical and mechanical engineering.
• Availability to travel internationally up to 70% of the time to customer sites.
• Strong command of the English language, as it is the primary language for customer communication and inspection reports.
• Knowledge of Dutch, French, or Spanish is a plus.
• Capable of performing installations.
• Possession of a valid category B driver’s license.
• Residing in or near Amsterdam.
• Flexible and able to work overtime.
• No fear of heights and capable of working in confined spaces.
