Functieomschrijving
As an Electrical Engineer Cabling, you will take ownership of the end-to-end design, routing, and integration of intricate cabling systems for cutting-edge naval vessels. You will ensure that electrical components—from sensors and power distribution units to mission-critical weapons—are linked through safe, efficient, and well-planned cable networks. Your expertise will transform conceptual system layouts into practical cable routes, factoring in EMC requirements, separation rules, bending limitations, and installation feasibility. Using the 3DExperience engineering platform and following the V-model approach, you will collaborate closely with multiple engineering disciplines to deliver a cable design that is robust, producible, and fully compliant. The outcome of your work will be a dependable and safe cabling network, meeting the strictest quality and safety standards. Key Responsibilities: • Develop and record detailed cable routing plans, cable lists, and interface definitions based on system architecture and functional specifications. • Guarantee adherence to EMC, fire safety, mechanical protection, and separation standards in all cabling designs. • Coördinate with Electrical, Outfitting, and Mechanical teams to ensure routes fit spatial and construction requirements. • Create and update cabling design guidelines, calculation tools, and standard templates. • Evaluate supplier documentation and integrate their cabling needs into the overall ship configuration. • Provide production teams with complete routing drawings, material lists, and clear installation instructions. • Assist in system testing by supporting cable verification and continuity inspections during FAT, HAT, and SAT stages. • Take part in design reviews, suggesting improvements to enhance accessibility, ease of maintenance, and lifecycle management.

Functie-eisen
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in detailed cabling design and integration for complex electrical systems, ideally within maritime, offshore, or aerospace industries. • Proficiency with cable routing in 3D environments and relevant CAD/PLM software such as 3DExperience, EPLAN, or AutoCAD Electrical. • Knowledge of system engineering methodologies and experience working in multidisciplinary project teams. • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent technical discipline. • Solid understanding of EMC-compliant design principles and effective cable separation and shielding techniques. • Strong professional references, as security clearance will be required. • Permanent EU citizenship and a valid EU passport (dual nationality involving non-EU citizenship or EU work visa holders are not eligible due to project security restrictions).
